Power Rogers Supports HIE (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy) Awareness Month

On Behalf of | Apr 1, 2019 | Birth Injury, Medical Malpractice

Power Rogers is proud to support HIE Awareness Month and Hope for HIE!

Hope for HIE is a non-profit global network for families with children diagnosed with HIE (Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy). Each April, it helps coordinate a month-long campaign to promote awareness, education, and support for the HIE community.

Hope for HIE’s efforts, driven solely by the hard work of selfless volunteers, has been critical to helping families across the world find connections and support after an HIE diagnosis. As a Chicago-based firm that’s represented many clients across Illinois in birth injury and medical malpractice claims, we’re happy to spread the word.

#HOPEneverends

For HIE Awareness Month 2019, Hope for HIE has launched its month-long Hope Never Ends campaign. The campaign is intended to harness the power of social media – which is where Hope for HIE got its start in 2010.

As part of the campaign, Hope for HIE is providing a number of resources for people who want to get involved – including both downloadable information packets, social media tools, and printable materials for any offline promotion.

If you’d like to help, you can get involved by:

  • Visiting Hope for HIE’s website, where you can find online HIE Awareness Month tools and resources available for download – including customizable themes for profiles, banner posts, and talking points for your online or offline communities;
  • Show what HOPE means by taking photos of yourself or your loved ones and sharing them online on places like Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook;
  • Using the #HOPEneverends hashtag on public posts you make about HIE and Hope Never Ends to become a part of the HIE community, spread the word, and make connections.

Hope for HIE’s webpage on this month’s campaign – which you can visit here – has a wealth of tools, Talking Points, FAQ materials, and more information about the initiative.

Fighting for Families. Fighting for Justice.

Since Power Rogers first opened its doors in 1993, our attorneys have become trusted advocates for clients and communities across the state when they face difficult times and complex legal proceedings – including those involving medical malpractice, birth injuries, and HIE, a form of brain damage that can occur when a baby is deprived of oxygen.

Given the life-altering effects of HIE, our firm is happy to be involved in spreading the word about the physical, emotional, and financial struggles children and families commonly face. We’re also proud to play a role in helping parents and families fight for the justice and compensation they deserve when HIE and other serious birth injuries result from the negligence of treating medical professionals – whether it’s during pregnancy, or during or after labor and delivery.

Over the years, our law firm has proven itself capable of handling these immensely complex and high-stakes cases. Our attorneys have secured record-setting verdicts and settlements in medical malpractice cases, including the largest medical malpractice verdict in Illinois history. Prevailing in these claims also provides the invaluable reward of knowing we helped families when they needed help most.
