On July 12, 2018 plaintiff, age 78, a part-time cardiologist, underwent spinal surgery without complication. However, post-op, while he was in the PACU, a resident anesthesiologist improperly administered the wrong medication and an incorrect dosage of Remifentanil–which caused plaintiff to suffer cardiac arrest and a mild brain injury. Plaintiff suffers from confusion, depression, and lack of concentration following the event. This was the highest reported recovery for traumatic brain injuries of a plaintiff over the age of 70.
