Power Rogers Settles Lawsuit for $750,000 on Behalf of Tinley Park Couple Injured in Porch Collapse

Recently, Brian LaCien of the Chicago personal injury law firm of Power Rogers settled a lawsuit for $750,000.00 as compensation for the for the injuries of a Tinley Park couple who was injured when a porch collapsed at a residence/townhouse in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Mr. LaCien filed a lawsuit on behalf of the couple seeking compensation for the couple’s injuries. The suit was filed against multiple Defendants including the entities that designed and constructed the deck, the townhome and the townhome development containing the deck and the townhome, the homeowner association, the management entity, and the homeowners. Plaintiffs alleged that the deck was improperly attached to the residence/townhome. As a result of the deck’s improper attachment, it violated Tinley Park Code/industry code and it collapsed.

As a result of the porch collapse, Plaintiff, D.P., age 80, suffered trauma to his foot and a calcaneus fracture. The foot injury required surgery and it has left him with pain with use of his leg. Additionally, he suffered a compression fracture in his back. His wife and co-Plaintiff, M.P., age 80, aggravated her preexisting back condition.

At the time of the collapse, the Plaintiffs were on the porch with a number of people.
