On Friday, June 5, 2020, Power Rogers, LLP Partner Larry R. Rogers, Jr. was installed as the 67th President of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA).
This is a significant honor that speaks to the respect and esteem Rogers has cultivated over his more than 25 years in practice, and it’s an appointment that comes amid a critical juncture in American history. As Larry notes:
“I am humbled and honored to lead such an organization of talented trial lawyers. We are in the midst of an international COVID-19 crisis which has closed our courthouses, confined us to our homes, and changed our lives from the everyday norms, as we knew them. But out of this crisis comes an opportunity to create a new normal that includes a justice system that is safer, more inclusive, and more efficient and fair in its administration of justice.”
Founded in 1952, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association is a statewide organization comprised of over 2,000 members who specialize in representing the injured and the wronged.
Mr. Rogers previously served as Vice President of the ITLA, and becomes only the second African American in the organization’s history to serve as President. His father and fellow Power Rogers Partner, Larry R. Rogers Sr., was the first black ITLA President when he served from 2000-2001. Attorney Rogers and the firm represent clients who have been injured in serious accidents such as medical malpractice and trucking collisions.
