In a two car accident on Friday, October 23, 2015, five people were critically injured on the Northwest Side of Chicago. The accident occurred in the early morning hours and caused the Chicago Transit Authority to reroute their #73 Armitage and #54 Cicero buses during the time the streets were closed for investigation. The collision ended up in damage to a few newspaper dispensers and a CTA bus stop. Debris from the accident caused damage to the window of a nearby appliance shop.

The cause of the crash is still unclear as both vehicles were heading southbound on Cicero Ave. when the collision occurred. Three of the victims were transported to Stroger Hospital while the other two were taken to Mt. Sinai. All five were listed in critical condition from the injuries sustained. The actual severity or type of injury was not immediately apparent. One person was in custody during the investigation by the Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
