R.G. v. Delicate Touch Car Wash

Premises liability settlement. R.G., an elderly man, was at a car wash when he went to use the bathroom. The bathroom floor tiles were wet causing R.G.’s cane to slip and him to fall. He suffered a left hip fracture requiring surgery. R.G. died during the pendency of the case due to unrelated causes.

C.L. v. Kennyata Hill

Auto: 62 year old was pedestrian who was struck while crossing Stockton Street near the intersection of Wrightwood, in Chicago. Plaintiff had gotten off the bus at the rear door and was crossing the street behind the bus. As he was crossing, he was hit by a vehicle of an uninsured driver. Plaintiff fractured skull in multiple places. Plaintiff pursued uninsured motorist claim. Co-counsel with Joseph A. Power, Jr.

C.S.W. v. Arreola – State Farm Insurance Company for Underinsured Motorist Claim

Motor vehicle settlement.  C.S.W. was a pedestrian in a crosswalk struck by a vehicle being operated by Arreola who was unable to see due to her windshield being “fogged up.” C.S.W. suffered a bilateral fracture of the right and left humerus, periorbital hematoma resulting in temporary left visual field deficits, and a concussion.

R.J. v. Vito Migliore

Auto: The Plaintiff, a 50 year-old male, was riding his bicycle in a designated bike lane on Southport Avenue when he was struck by Defendant’s vehicle, which was making a left turn into a CVS parking lot. The Plaintiff sustained injuries including a dislocated shoulder and rotator cuff repair. Co-counsel Joseph W. Balesteri.

C.D. v. Teen Driver (2021)

James Power secured a $200,000.00 settlement on behalf of Plaintiff, a 77 year old female, who was driving on Waukegan Road when a vehicle unexpectedly pulled out from the Deerfield High School Parking Lot and struck her vehicle. Plaintiff suffered a fractured sternum and three broken ribs.

A.A. v. Hilton Hotels

Premises liability settlement – A.A. slipped on the stairs while at the Hilton for a work conference. She suffered a fracture to her right ankle resulting in surgery.

F.B. v. First Luna Taxi Cab Co.

Automobile collision: The Plaintiff was a passenger in a taxicab that ran a red light and was involved in a collision. Defendants admitted liability shortly before trial. Plaintiff suffered a post-concussive syndrome. The offer prior to trial was $60,000.

S.G. v. Confidential

S.G. was visiting his uncle home when he was unexpectedly bitten on his non-dominate hand by his uncle’s dog.  The resulting injury caused S.G. to suffer a nerve injury and resulting in slight loss of sensation when this hand is used for extended periods of time.

A.J. v. Dugger (Winnebago County)

Motor vehicle settlement.  A.J.’s motor vehicle was struck by the defendant’s motor vehicle when he lost control due to excessive speeds on snowy roadways. A.J. suffered a cervical strain and ongoing headaches

N.B. v. Ahmad

Motor vehicle settlement.  Plaintiff was riding a motorcycle when she was struck by a motor vehicle. She suffered a ligament tear in her right thumb resulting in surgery. The policy limits of $50,000.00 from defendant and policy limits of $50,000.00 from underinsured motorist policy were paid.
