Joseph A. Power, Jr. Receives 2018 Leo Man of the Year Honors

Power Rogers founding partner Joseph A. Power, Jr. was named the 2018 Leo Man of the Year on Friday, April 20 at the 63rd annual Leo Alumni Association banquet.

“The friends I met at Leo played an important role in my development as a human being,” said Joe Power. “It contributed to my toughness as well as helped me to open my mind by introducing me to other ethnic groups and races.”

Power, Jr., a graduate of the Leo High School Class of 1970, has spent his distinguished career successfully fighting for the rights of injured victims throughout Illinois. He has earned a spot as one of the most prominent attorneys in the nation through his efforts, securing some of the largest verdicts in Illinois history, including a $55.4 jury verdict – the largest medical malpractice jury verdict in the history of the state, a $100 million recovery in a truck case that resulted in the criminal conviction of the former Illinois Governor along with 75 more criminal convictions, and more than 200 jury verdicts and settlements in excess of $1 million. Recently, Power, Jr. and his son, James Power, obtained a $95,477,464 verdict in a case where their client suffered leg injuries that required a double above-the-knee amputation.
